Some time ago I have visited a website with the title A Lazy Player’s Guide to the Scotch Gambit, but it seems that this site has disappeared.
This is a pity because the site gave a nice summary of the main lines of this opening, that can lead to variations of the Two Knights Defence and the Giuoco Piano, as well as the nice Lolli Attack of one of the other lessons. It is a nice choice of an opening system for players who like sharp, double-edged positions and it’s easy to learn the basic ideas. It didn’t cover everything, but it included more than an average club player needs to know. Now I’ll try to produce a similar post about the 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Bc4 Bc5 variation of this Scotch Gambit.

The Fried Liver attack is a very nice opening for beginners. It enables a lot of opportunities and is a decent opening unlike the Scholar’s mate attempts that a lot of beginners are playing.
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 The two Knights Defence
4.Ng5 This is an immediate attack at Black’s weakest square f7, but White is also moving a piece in the opening twice.
Still it is a rather nice attack and Black has only the move 4…d5 to avoid losing the pawn on f7.
